Cross Talk 2017
One of our favorite and most special nights here at K-2 is called Cross Talk. We get to share stories and present a real life picture of the gospel as we reenact the crucifixion scene.
On Thursday our Kampers have the opportunity to hear the gospel in a unique way at cross talk. Every year our Kampers look forward to this night because it is a special time centered on connecting with their teepee-mates and the Lord. The evening starts out with worship music and then moves into a time of reflection. Then the Kampers hear from six different characters that protray Biblical stories about different miracles Jesus performed. Keith Chancey, our K-Seven director, then addresses the Kampers and ties it all together with the Gospel:
We are all broken and sinful and therefore we deserve death (Romans 3:23 and Romans 6:23). However, God sent His son Jesus to earth where He lived a perfect life (2 Corinthians 5:21). He was then crucified even though He had no fault and three days later rose from the grave conquering death (Matthew 20:17-19). His death and resurrection act as the sacrifice that covers all of our past, present, and future sin (1 John 2:2). When we believe in Him and choose to dedicate our lives to Him we gain forgiveness, freedom, and citizenship in Heaven (Ephesians 2:8-9). This is easily the most powerful night of Kamp and a great way to wrap up one of the best weeks of the summer.
