K-Life at K-Kountry has a little bit of everything! Dancing, singing, skits, worship and a talk are all part of one K-Life! Not only is K-Life one of the most fun things we do at K-Kountry, but it is also a launching pad for the spiritual growth that Kampers experience at Kamp. Throughout the 3 K-Lifes we have per week, Kampers learn about God, sin and the redeeming Gospel of Jesus Christ.
After the Kampers and Staff get hype and dance, we always play a game or have some sort of competition! This week was a counselor competition, as they competed for a years worth of Chick Fil A! Three counselors attempted to shoot a basketball into goal, backwards! Unfortunately, we did not have a victorious counselor.
After the game, we had a time of worship and watched the first scene of the Gospel Skit. The Gospel Skit is a skit created that portrays the Gospel through a fun and engaging plots and characters. This year's Gospel Skit is about the redeeming love of a father who generously welcomes his daughter back home after she sins against him and runs away. The Gospel Skit is a creative and impactful way to explain the Gospel to Kampers.
Lastly, we got to hear from our director Collin Sparks. Collin first spoke about all the things he loves, including M&Ms, football and Dr. Pepper. But he explained that even though we love some things so much, our love always runs out. However, God, our Creator, who knows everything about us, has an everlasting love for us! There is no amount of money that will outweigh his love for us- it is unconditional. He continued by teaching Romans 5:8- "But God demonstrates His own love for us in this: while we were still sinners, Christ died for us." Collin wanted Kampers to take away one thing: that you have a Heavenly Dad that loves you, knows you, delights in you and is pleased with you. God loves us, unconditionally, so much that He would send His one and only son to die on our behalf.
Stay tuned for a recap of K-Life 2 and 3!
