The morning starts like most mornings here at kamp, the kitichies and maintenance up early getting ready for the day.
K-life is a time filled with fun competitions, funny skits, worship, and teaching from the Bible. Throughout the term, we will cover many different topics. Our blog will give updates of each talk so that follow-up conversations can happen with the Kampers when they go home.
For our first K-life our assistant director, Michael Atmar, talked about creation. Genesis 1:1 says, “In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth.” He talked about how amazing God’s creation is. Genesis 1:27 says, “So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them.” He talked about how incredible it is that God made us in His image and how much He loves us! After talking about how amazing it is that God made us, he talked about the idea that God created us to run as shown in Hebrews 12:1-2, “Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us also lay aside every weight, and sin which clings so closely, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking to Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is seated at the right hand of the throne of God.” Jesus took our sins on the cross so that we could run with endurance towards Him. He then went into our theme for the summer is which is “Run Free.” The theme verse is Psalm 119:32, “I run in the way of your commands for you have set my heat free!” God created us and He created us to run free. We are thankful that God chose to send His son to die on the cross, conquer sin, and rise again because He loves us so much. Because Jesus took our shame away, we can run free towards Him. We are thankful for this time of teaching and are excited to continue learning what it means to Run Free!
